There are many common chewing gums on the market that claim to whiten or clean your teeth while you chew.

Is this true and is there any evidence to support their claims?

Your question is a bit ambiguous.

If you are asking about chewing gums which clean your teeth while you chew, then yes, this is true and has been proved scientifically in various research studies. Also the ingredients from these chewing gums make your teeth more resistant to decay.

However, chewing gums offering whitening and similar cosmetic results have so far, not been substantiated by any research. Thus it is very difficult to comment about the same.

True. Because chewing gums remove the plaque and chewing cause much saliva to pour in to the mouth which enhance cleaning process.

Dear, Amal ,,,It is difficult to say that is a true but , it may be help to remove the dental plaque and some of the food staining ,not all ,,,finally this is depend on the good type of  the chewing gums and we must not depend on it to  prevent dental decay.
