I would say its normal to face cold calls on daily bases.
Be smart, clear and professional, armed with with excellent communication skills and useful/complete knowledge, stay calm and flexible, listen well, smile and provide good answers, never LIE and always remember how to move on from rejection. Thank You.
Cold Calling is usually the first point of contact between a salesperson and prospect, providing an unrivaled opportunity to establish a foundation of trust and friendship.
When you cold call, you ought to always have a plan for the call. What is step one? Step two? Step three? I recommend you begin with the end in mind.
The success of a cold call can be ultimately determined by the knowledge and expertise of the seller. You must have an unparalleled understanding of (1) your product, (2) your prospect and (3) how you can offer real value.
There are many factors that can help leave a positive impression. Some will include:
1. Having a positive attitude
2. Greeting them by using their name
3. Smiling....and keep smiling
4. Keep good notes, keep it personal and professional
5. Listen and ask specifically how you can help
6. Even if the customer is angry must keep cool, smile and treat them with care and kindness
I would like to advice my sales representative that while cold calling you should keep one thing in mind and that is never loose temper as sometimes customer cross questioning force you to get hyper,
You should try to understand the level of customer you are talking with and communicate according to that.
Understand what the customer demand is and then offer the best solution by the product you are marketing,
We can face challenges while cold calling but we always believe in the product we are selling and project the product instead of selling ourselves and overstating the number of customers who are using the product and the ROI they achieved in short terms, this will be the game changer and avoids cold calling
While making a cold call you should have a sound plan, grip on your script, ability to switch from plan A to plan B or to plan C, complete knowledge of product, you should be able to identify the customer need and educate the person on the other side of the phone and develop interest for your product Plus be understanding not aggressive listen to the person what he/she is saying keep the sale out of your mind for a moment and focus what he/she is asking and answer according and calmly with honesty, Never rush in a cold call !
My advise to sales rep about a successful cold calling would be based on few tips;
1) Invest in research about prospect
2) Craft a solid script with plan A plan B and plan C
3) Understand prospect's needs, wants and demands and stay confident.
4) Stick to your goal.
5) Anticipate Objections.

3. Rehearse until it sounds natural
4. Practice positive body language and approach

2. Don't forget that it's about customer not just the sale.
3. Don't try to counter all objections
4. Don't hand up with out a follow-up
5. Don't consider "NO" as failure
Since selling became a recognized profession a couple of generations ago, countless sales training organizations, sales experts, writers, theorists, and sales people of all sorts, have attempted to create effective cold calling techniques and scripts. There is no magic script, and while there are many helpful frameworks and methodologies there is no single magic answer.
Successful cold calling includes the effectiveness of methods and techniques - essentially relies on your own attitude towards cold calling.
To become a master of cold calling, you must have following set of traits & skills:
Cold calling is defined as the solicitation of business from potential customers[ who have had no prior contact with the salesperson conducting the call, therefore making the call cold. It quite complex but if you have a convincing power to sell the product and you tell to the customer that the product you sell is okay and if you delivered it will high performance the way you tell to the client what brand you sell. Cold call is complex because they cannot see you and your product. Your voice, convincing power and knowledge of the product is your weapon
Helpful tips from others. I would like to conclude that by:
1. Be clear about what you are trying to sell or advertise.
2. Prepare yourself before making your cold calling.
3. Be confident and professional (your voice tone, answers...etc)
4. Don't push the client/ customer
