If you have problems with the tutor program ... go to a College or University and take an evening course or two...
I had taken AutoCAD12 at one time and thought I needed a refresher in2006... just to find out that the commands were still the same .. it got icons to click on .. the layout of the program had changed or rather were located in a different location..
The only way to become professioned is to use it on a daily bases
Im able to work with AUTOCAD2014 with all matters for civil and construction drawings as im working with this software for long time

hese pointers are focused on AutoCAD. However, most apply to virtually any CAD program. Sometimes the terms are different: In SketchUp, blocks are called components; in Illustrator, they’re called symbols. For AutoCAD, you can use .fas files as apps. For SketchUp, they’re called rubies (.rb) and for Illustrator, they end with the extension .aip. So optimize your workflow and become a pro!
Practice..Practice..Practice..
Basic Training, Youtube, Google. And the most important "Practice makes a man Perfect".
Without a doubt, one of the most important aspects in a drawing is the use of layers. An empty drawing by default only has one layer, named “0” in AutoCAD. Don’t use this layer unless you know what you are doing; it behaves in a particular way. It’s hard to create too many layers, but to prevent getting lost, it’s wise to think of a layer structure first. Add numbers for main categories as a prefix of the layer names so they are grouped together in the layer menu by default.
AutoCAD drafters use AutoCAD - Autodesk's industry-leading drafting and design software - to prepare2D and3D technical drawings. These drawings are used as blueprints to construct products and structures, such as buildings, machinery, toys, microchips, plumbing & electrical systems, vehicles and a host of other manufactured goods. AutoCAD drafting professionals hold a range of job titles, including engineer, drafter, estimator, designer, modeler, architect or illustrator.
The best AutoCAD drafters combine "right-brain" attributes, such as creativity & spatial relationships, with "left-brain" traits, like mathematics & analytical thinking, to produce captivating and innovative designs. Whether your CADD career path lies in civil engineering, architecture, electrical, or entertainment (CADD software such as Autodesk's Maya can render stunning3D animation & special effects), AutoCAD gives you the power to bring your ideas to life.
AutoCAD is the most popular CADD software with the highest overall job-market demand. There are also specialized versions of AutoCAD and other Autodesk products designed for drafters in specific job-roles and industries. Here are the most popular Autodesk products and the drafting specialists that use them:
