Environmentally friendly, environment-friendly, eco-friendly, nature-friendly, and green are marketing terms referring to goods and services, laws. guidelines and policies that inflict reduced, minimal, or no harm upon ecosystems or the environment. Companies use these ambiguous terms to promote goods and services, sometimes with additional, more specific certifications, such as ecolabels. Environment friendly is a term which is used for certain machinery or process which do not cause any emission of harmful gases for the environment such as NOx, SOx, CFC(s).

A machinery or process can be be made environment friendly by taking the following steps:

1. Frequently monitoring the gas emissions from generators and engines to make sure they are within the prescribed range of the country's environmental quality standards.

2. Taking steps to control these emissions such as installing scrubbers on generator exhausts to make sure harmful gases are not vented out in the atmosphere.

Environmentally friendly, environment-friendly, eco-friendly, nature-friendly, and green are marketing terms referring to goods and services, laws, guidelines and policies that inflict reduced, minimal, or no harm upon ecosystems or the environment. The International Organization for Standardization has developed ISO14020 and ISO14024 to establish principles and procedures for environmental labels and declarations that certifiers and eco-labellers should follow. In particular, these standards relate to the avoidance of financial conflicts of interest, the use of sound scientific methods and accepted test procedures, and openness and transparency in the setting of standards
