Continuous improvement ! as long as you do small steps , provide metrics that measure performance , implement new metrics every quarter or year based on strategy, then you can improve and yes the most important is to be a good listener to negative feed back.
I like to see this from a personal prospective : I take periodical medical check , my wife tells me I am getting fat ! , I start to monitor fatty food i eat !, I start to cut on some of it , I monitor my weight !, I start losing few grams , medical check again , and I am a better husband again , that simple
