2 way is used with VFD pumps and3way with constant speed pumps

A2-way valve is having2 ports and a3-way valve is having3 ports where the flow gets by-pass.
A2-way valve is used for variable speed pump system and a3-way valve is used for constant speed pump system.

2 way valve is having2 port like in and out, where else3 way valve is having3 ports where when one port is closed to open the other. In that case the flow is bypass.
