Warehouse profitability involves many factors.
1. Maintaining low inventory level always by which space usage can be reduce which in turn we can plan to reduce the rent of the warehouse space, but of course without stock outs. 2. Few items - we can maintain as JIT (Just in Time Inventory). 3. Logistics proper planning - while re-distributing the products to the manufacturing units. 4. Wherever possibility is there, we need to automate the functions...so that we can reduce the manpower cost (ex. - in food commodities - we can ask the vendor to supply the commodities after SORTING, so that we need not do sorting in our warehouse).
It is not only the keeping of specialized goods in specific locations. Warehousing can be profitable by arranging the goods in batch wise as per its production date, duration of storage, proper labeling, and of the assessment of volume of the goods storing.
