I think that's because the emotions are usually weak.
As we see in courts, Justice is blind and that's to not let the emotions judge.

Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to identify, assess, and control the emotions of oneself, of others, and of groups.
EI is usually measured using self-report questionnaires and has stronger relationships with personality.
EI is usually measured using maximum performance tests and has stronger relationships with traditional intelligence.
traditional definitions of intelligence emphasized cognitive aspects such as memory and problem-solving, several influential researchers in the intelligence field of study had begun to recognize the importance of the non-cognitive aspects.

Ever since the publication of Daniel Goleman’s first book on the topic in 1995, emotional intelligence has become one of the hottest buzzwords in corporate America.
For instance, when the Harvard Business Review published an article on the topic two years ago, it attracted a higher percentage of readers than any other article published in that periodical in the last 40 years.
When the CEO of Johnson & Johnson read that article, he was so impressed that he had copies sent out to the 400 top executives in the company worldwide.
Given that emotional intelligence is so popular in corporate America, and given that the concept is a psychological one, it is important for I/O psychologists to understand what it really means and to be aware of the research and theory on which it is based.
So in my presentation today, I’d like to briefly lay out the history of the concept as an area of research and describe how it has come to be defined and measured.
I also will refer to some of the research linking emotional intelligence with important work-related outcomes such as individual performance and organizational productivity.
Even though the term has been misused and abused by many popularizers, I believe it rests on a firm scientific foundation.
Also, while there are aspects of the concept that are not new, some aspects are.
Finally, emotional intelligence represents a way in which I/O psychologists can make particularly significant contributions to their clients in the future.
So let’s begin with some history.

Emotional intelligence is not a form of intelligence.
Emotions produce sensitivity, intelligence results rationality (reasonable).
These are two words separate and different, can not be combined together, opposing one another.
If you refer to emotions, you disregard your mind.
Emotions is a state of feeling where as intelligence is from the mind.
In decision-makings, we should use our mind to make reasonable decisions.
Being emotional makes one forget his mind.

Have a look at the following expertise with shared by one of the professional through Wikipedia reference: "[Goleman] exemplifies more clearly than most the fundamental absurdity of the tendency to class almost any type of behaviour as an 'intelligence'...
If these five 'abilities' define 'emotional intelligence', we would expect some evidence that they are highly correlated; Goleman admits that they might be quite uncorrelated, and in any case if we cannot measure them, how do we know they are related? So the whole theory is built on quicksand: there is no sound scientific basis." ============= Reference Link: ============= http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotional_intelligence#EI_cannot_be_recognized_as_a_form_of_intelligence

Some in the middle east think that EI isin't a form of intelligence and this way of thinking is caused by the mentality which says business is money and a money oriented person should prefer his money over peoples feelings, which is totally wrong, every manager should know how to enter a win-win relation with his employees and customers, the EI gives the ability to reach the customer faster and guarantee it because people ways of thinking change but they all have feelings, furthermore the EI makes the person a leader who can combine his team to give more efficient and effective work that's why when the person working is happy he will directly give a better output so that's why a good manager should have in his skills the EI as one of the most important.
and here we can take as an example of the EI that have won peoples hearts and attracted more customers the AVON brand which is with woman against breast cancer and this is what made lots of people around the world prefer this brand, because its not only with good quality but also it is us(the people),it know us and taking one of the most important health causes.

Emotion and intelligence are two components of a weighing scale. Emotional intelligence is a product or a bench mark that has no measure. This type of intelligence is something that wavers as per persons mood.
