My suggestion would be start working in the domain you wish to grow in. Take more courses and certifications in this career. Maybe in2 years start your masters. You would have enough experience to relate between theoretical and practical, and study would be easier for you. After that leave PhD till at least3 years more experience after your masters, hopefully you would be at a mid-senior level position and have enough knowledge to go for PhD. Remember that with a PhD it will not be easy to find a job, it will have to be either consultant job or teaching at a university, which might be or not be what your are aiming for. Once you have a PhD you are automatically over-qualified for MOST jobs on the market. your work will have to be then academic and/or consultancy. Best of luck and hope it helped.
