1) Ensure that every team member knows what their job is, and why that job is important

 

2) Give each team member as much authority over their own job as possible - they are the one doing it, so they should be in charge of it

 

3) The team must be a team - everybody must know what everybody else does and why their jobs and important, and how the whole thing fits together.  Everybody must know that everybody must succeed or everybody fails

 

4) Be a good team leader.  Be consistent and fair.  Listen to your team.  Figure out what is the most unpleasant job - the part that nobody wants to do - and do it yourself.

 

5) Value the contribution of each team member

 

I could write a book on this, but that will do for now.  If you do even two of the these five you'll be in the top15% of team leaders.
