Try this: I had very interesting results when I told my students to leave these at home. For120 minutes, they had nothing on their desks, which meant I had their attention. I used an e-board to highlight the important aspects of the lesson, and it also meant their eyes were focused on me and the lesson. I have never experienced this level of communicative learning before because there were no distractions. I was very impressed.
of course yes... they are suppose to bring thier note books and text books to class at all time except for out door practicals that does not warrant...
Text books and notebooks are necessary to learning. If the course calls for learning from a specific text book, it is necessary to go over the material in the text book. Notebooks are needed to ensure that the understanding within the class is carried over to outside the class. There can be times when books can be cleared from the desks for open discussion and classroom participation in learning from the teacher and chalkboard. Teachers have to be creative and touch all of the bases.
they do bring their textbooks, and I insist that they do, and of course reward the ones who keep doing their homework on time
