Depend on the brand you will be working in.
If it is a luxury or premium brand I will consider learning Russian as most Russian tourist come to Dubai with basic or no English skills.
As I said earlier it depends on the customers you will be selling to.

English is the most widely used international language of all business sector over the world. Since the apparel/Retail/Fashion sector is an international business sector so a candidate must have a very good command in English language both in oral and written who is aiming at securing a job in this sector. But he/she can also have good command in Russian/German/French/Spanish/Italian/Arabic language for better support. Thanks.

In brief and in addition to your native language,

  1. The laguage that your future job (retail/fashion) imports the products from (not necessary but preferably).
  2. The laguage of the local area where the retail store or establishment is selling it's items to.
  3. The language of the country your establishment is exporting to (considered a surplus).
