A person who is leading team properly is called supervisor. supervision is a skill to be responsible for every thing happening in department. to make a plan for all and handling tasks with help of team without any issues and complete it properly. then provide a final report to managers.
Supervision is an intervention that is provided by a senior member of a profession to a junior member or members of that same profession. This relationship is evaluative, extends over time, and has the simultaneous purposes of enhancing the professional functioning of the junior member(s), monitoring the quality of professional services offered to the clients she, he, or they see(s), and serving as a gatekeeper of those who are to enter the particular profession.
Successful supervisors know what is going on in their organization. They have knowledge about objectives and plans, their product, organizational hierarchy etc. It is necessary for them to store all this information otherwise they will not know where to look for information about all these matters.
They also possess technical knowledge such as production technology, basic principles of management like planning, organizing, directing, motivating and controlling. But these are not the only qualities and skills a manager, leader or decision maker needs to be successful
Supervisor should manage the activities of the team member in such a manner to help the management for the smooth operation of the Organization

To me a supervisor must have the following qualities.
Great communication skills, Adapt to the changes, Value the employees, A coacher/mentor, Disciplined, Feedback/incentives,Be an example, Be approachable, Be considerate, Positive attitude, Criticize constructively
