The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) advises employers to follow five steps when carrying out a workplace risk assessment: 1- Identify the hazards that may cause harm. 2-Decide who may be harmed and how 3-Assess the risk and take action 4- Make a record of the finding 5- Review the risk assessment.

Every business differs

risk assessments are tailored  to the type of business you are in

Manufacturing : risk are moving equipment , rotatable equipment , fire , spillages etc

Office workers:   Staples , paper cuts , electronics like computers

Labs : Chemicals gasses etc

Construction:  Working at heights , Earth moving equipment , Electric tools etc

So dependent on you line of business there would need to be an assessment to establish the risk then generate the procedure ,  SWP safe working practices , SOP safe operating Procedures

The term Risk Assessment is a very wide term for construction sector since hazards are always present for everyone but not all can point out the minute of hazards or risks associated with the simplest of jobs. Slips, Trips, Falls, Electrocution, Improper Scaffolds, Improper Maintenance of Heavy Vehicles, Unskilled Labour, Insufficient Training to workforce, Improper communication of On Site Emergency Preparedness Plan to grass root employee as well, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work etc. are the fields always demanding Risk Assessments. Best of Luck!
