The prefered choice would be to understand what the misunderstanding is about and clear the air bu mutual conversation.
Further, it does help to resent the point of view of the Manager to the MD at a time when he/she is more receptive to the alternate versions.
In addition the tone, type or words used for any message may be the cause of the misunderstanding and thus I would also advise my Manager to rectify or alter these characteristics.
