Having a Standard Operating Procedure in place makes Quality Management System more effective since there will be a common practice among employees. The Procedure will tell them how to do things in a sequential manner so it is very easy to spot which employees are following the procedure. This is very critical in manufacturing environment where the environment cannot allow to have a single mistake. Not only that, every organization is volatile, meaning people come and go. Imagine if you have new employees. That employee will start from scratch since he does not have any reference for doing his work. So it is easy to train new employees if there is SOP at hand.
