Can we used Concrete with superplasticizer admixture ( self compacting concrete) for column , retaining walls, and other types of load bearing walls?

I think it is inappropriate for high temperature areas .

hello ,

The self compacting concrete (also know as self levelling concrete) has levelled top surface. It can't be used  where top surface of slab is needed with inclined surface (with less slope). For inclined walls or columns or any member where we can provide shuttering to all sides, self compacting concrete can be used.

In general we can use self compacting concrete instead of a normal concrete.

 

Superplasticizer is used to reduce water to cement ratio hence enhancing performance, the only problem you would encounter is the accelerated hardening.

SCC can be used anywhere where normal concrete can be used provided your project cost allow you to do so.

SCC is always designed with superplasticizer to achieve high workability.

Yes you can provided the concrete meets the required criteria as per the design
