In most cases, i.e. systems and IT related cases it's OK. But, again timings of team meetings, team tasks etc. need to be evaluated as these things highly affect the project output.

Definitely, if the team members are mature enough to understand their responsibilities and can perform when there is minimal or no supervision.

yes in one case, if you are sure you will deliver the result/output ahead of its time or at least on time, or you will be blamed because no one know where are you and your team and what are you doing.
