Solid Works.

  • Because  modification at later stage in project is easy using Solid Works as compared to Auto Cad.
  • Also you can check the feasibility of your product by performing structural and fluid analysis using Solid Works.

I disagree, with Mr Sankarrajan's post ..... it is all you want to do with the program...

AutoCAD Student Teachers version has it's pro's and con's ... it is cheap, you have several licences, however you have to modify the settings when you print commercial drawings... and you have to order it while you are in school ....

According to my instructor the civil engineering program has more features than the mechanical one.

SolidWorks  is for modeling usually utilized in the car industry or any other industry which would use CATIA ... the kicker is SolidWorks is a dummied down version of CATIA also developed by DESOTO... so if you are not into mechanical drafting ... use AutoCAD or Microstation
