1-the duct is tested by light or smoke.

2-the cfm from each diff. is measured by flow meter (different types)

3- the noise is also measured.

4-the area temp is also tested.

5-in some especial cases like hospital the air out of the filters is tested .

It is a usual practice & part of testing & commissioning in a cleanroom application such as pharmaceutical or healthcare project. Local FDA & WHO guidelines are very much useful for particle count. Temperature study as per ASHRAE & AHRI. Air flow test as per ASHRAE & SMACNA guidelines.
