What is the difference between marketing strategy and strategic integrated marketing communications?

As per my understanding Marketing Strategy is more toward long term or broad planning while Strategic integrated marketing communication is honing toward a specific sector and target audience with short or immediate timeframe.

Nothing. They are both buzzwords for "telling people about the stuff we sell."

 

I used to do a job where I got to make up names like strategic integrated marketing communications.  It was brilliant.  Oops,  I mean I had a Customer-Focussed Enhanced Communication Opportunity.
