Every competitor has drawbacks, research what they are not offering/what mistakes they are making NEVER repeat the same mistakes....offer what they are not offering (it may be a little more service)
The best way is not to keep focusing on the consumer, keep focusing on the sales promotion and try not to be identical with your competitors.
You have to offer them something special i.e. Quality, price, sales promotion, after sales services or customer services.
When there are several similar products are competing in the same market we have to reposition our product against the competitors and decide the new marketing mix for the product. We have to look for Niches hitting with the new features of the product.
Strategically, introduce new quality or attract customers by providing discounts or packages
there are N nos. of parameters which decide the volumes of sales, not only Product.
For example: Physical Distribution, Pre/post sales services, branding, visibility , goal congruence with channel partners/vendor etc.
Little improvement in mentioned aspects will boost & can give an long term stability as well.
Okay, lets take Nike, Adidas and Puma as the best example. this three global brands sell sports items. Here this companies are competing each other by promoting athletes and sportsmen. They promote their target audience's 'work' which is sports. So if there are n number of companies with same product, the only way to push it is to know the consumer and the brand's market value, so that the marketing team can come up with a powerful and smart business strategy.
By differentiation, increased quality, treat every customer as an individual, design and modify the product and policies according to customer need. Sell an experience the will be remembered and deal customer with a bit of personal touch
Depending on the product. but overall good relationship with customer is one of the best known method
other than that is good pricing strategy with good quality product, attractive packaging
