Secretary of all the choices you make when starting a business, department one of the most important is the type of legal structure you select for your company / department. Not only will this decision have any impact on how much you pay in taxes, it will affect the amount of paper work your business is required to do, the personal liability you face and your ability to raise money.
No doubt the policies of the management shall be given the priority but an attempt needs to be made to know the concern of the employee as well. Because if the employees of the company are happy and satisfied then it will reflect upon the growth and development of that company in a positive way.
So many times we try to get away from difficult choices in life by saying 'it depends' or 'I have little control'. Being an ethics trainer for around4 years and having seen these situations for around years as a trainer, I can say at least this much that ethical situation has nothing to do with any of the above answers.
If we don't have any ethical values in our lives, we will go down the drain like many without any imprints in history...
For one thing, every one can make a difference no matter they have any say or not and secondly every one needs to live by some values in life no matter how low or high their 'earnings' seem to be....
In language of ethics, what are called 'ethical dilemmas' can make it hard to choose between two rights... Please know that I am not saying about obvious difference between right and wrong where that is a mere character issue on our part.
Best way to solve ethical dilemmas like above is to consider how best we can reconcile situation for both ends. Talk to employees about managerial concerns and likewise share the worker's concerns with the management clearly and refrain from diplomatic answers at both ends. By the end of the day, even if no one listened to 'the secretary' at least he/ she will have a good night sleep and feel proud to have done their job to the best of their abilities.
The Minister must follow the policies of the Ministry until the study of the concerns of the employees and their suitability and the ability to respond to what employees are interested in or not
Nither the former nor the latter ... He should follow the work regulations, whoever was the boss. Policies of management is the unbrella; regardless if we do agree or not about it
Of course, the policy of the employees should have the upper hand. However, every sound policy has to consider carefully and seriously the concerns of individual employees, as well as their collective concerns. Thus, there should always be venue for dialogue and feedback. We should remember that positive and healthy relationship comprises half of the company's success.
it depends on the circulstances of the situation :/
it depends on the ongoing situation
The secretary has little power and influence over the issues. They should refer the employee to the appropriate manager for solution.
The secretary should pick the policies of the company.
