What is the best way for teachers to help students read and speak fluently?

I think this can be done through different ways, but a teacher should focus on letting or enabling his students to do more practice - specially reading and speaking -  because the ideal way to gain a language is through practice, practice and practice.

Only by paying more attention to them by spending more time and effort trying to help them master the task

Here are some suggestions:

 

- Tell them success stories about those who learned the language.

- Let them start reading a topic they like and that topic must have a wide range of academic vocabulary.

- Giving them pronunciation lessons (-ed, intonation etc.)
