Fire Alarm System is a General Requirements in a Commercial and Industrial Buildings and Location.(Annex G within NFPA contains the outline of each section of Article of the National Electrical Code that states requirements for the installation of FIRE ALARM Systems.)

These types of Fire Alarm System:

Central Station, Protected premises, Auxiliary, Proprietary Supervising Station, Remote Supervising Station and Emergency Voice/alarm communication and some basic features to all the system.

Fire alarm sounds  are always communicating to all area of the premises, with a warning light in RED.

Central station will automatically identified the Area where the Fire Alarm System detected the Smoke or Fire.

NFPA facilitates interconnections using networks.

So, it is interconnection, if one fire detector in facility detected fire the Fire Alarm gives a sounds simultaneously, either in voice or siren.
