Mixed flow distribution is the traditional method of supplying air to ventilated spaces. Cool air is blown in through the ceiling or wall and dilutes the room air in an attempt to provide an even temperature and contaminant level through the space.
With mixed flow ventilation the flow is driven by the inertia of the supply air. The volume of the air supplied for mixed flow ventilation is calculated proportionally to the supply air and room air temperature.
mix between the fresh and the return air
In an Air Handling Unit Outside Air and Return Air are mixed to get the desired condition of supply air before entering the cooling coil. These are done for variety of reasons but the major factor is heat recovery and energy efficient. The application is depending to the control parameter of the AHU it could be controlling the outside and return air dampers in mixing chamber or having Enthalpy wheel depending to the application and design.
Mixed flow Air conditioning Is mixing The Return Air from building with the fresh air coming from outside building into the AHU before suppling again to the building
In simple words, Mixed flow Air conditioning is adding fresh air to the return air in the mixing chamber of the AHU.
Mix flow ventilation is the process changing or replacing air , remove any combination of moisture, odors, smoke, heat, dust, airborne bacteria, or carbon dioxide, and to replenish oxygen.
It is the traditional method of supplying air to ventilated spaces. Cool air is blown in through the ceiling or wall and dilutes the room air in an attempt to provide an even temperature and contaminant level through the space.
Mixed flow ventilation is that method to use the return air from ventilated air in the air distribution system to be provided to the fresh air system after make mechanical treatment to this air in the air handling unit .
ventilation flow depend on area cross section and flow velocity for air
Mixed Air Ventilation is a system wherein outside air is introduce to a ventilated space to promote air quality such as removal of carbon monoxide and etc, outside air may come outside the building or outside the room of the ventilated required space and will pass through a chilled coil so that it will not affect the the cooling efficiency of the air conditioning unit serving the required space through a manual or motorized air damper (like HRU's).
