Yes they do, more precisely I consider the recommendation from the person with whom you have worked or reported to. Recommendations those are related to work appreciation  will help the candidate to get shortlisted.

Probably yes in a smaller percentage. It is a part which can help to make the decision.

Yes, they do take the endorsements seriously. But most of the time, it has nothing to do with their performance within the firm, they simply they don't give much weigh to it and it is far different than recommendations as already described by a friend.

I don't Think they are taking it as one of their factor, simply becuase they request CVs.

They also need to test the applicant for assurance of their ability and specific Skills.

Hi,

I believe that there is a difference between Endorsement and Recommendation. Endorsement can made be made from any person in your network(he can be your colleague, classfellow, client, friend, siblings, family, etc.) and each endorsement is related to a specific Listed skill only. Whereas Recommendations are only by your colleague/clients who have observed you or were inspired by you.

So Recruiters see it this way; a profile with a Recommendation carry more weightage over a profile with an Endorsement. But they actually do observe and value the Endorsements that a profile has.

Am not a recruiter, but I don't think that recruiters in all occasions may rely on LinkedIn endorsements. The reason behind my point of view is that recruiters need to see something tangible other than endorsements through social media.

yes, everyone does that. If you haven't considered for the position of course you don't meet their targeted candidate's skills.
