the optical fiber itself is BW unlimited but it may restricted by the active equipment

Fiber Optical cables are two types,single mode and multi mode. Single mode fiber is used for both interbuilding and intrabuilding backbone cable.Inside the plant we are using Multi mode cables.Depending upons the variations of wavelenth fiber classify single mode and multi mode types. At distances up to3 km, single mode fiber will deliver data rates up to  Gbps with a bandwidth of Ghz. Its operating wavelengths are nm and nm.
