A value chain is the whole series of activities that create and build value at every step of business process. In other words is the full range of activities including design, production, marketing and distribution businesses go through to bring a product or service from conception to delivery.

It encompass a lot of activities which are sometimes grouped into primary and secondary activities. Your illustration have some hence partially true.
