When answering this question, it is best to answer it the way you wanted to be for the next5 years. You should have at least a goal that after5 years, you wanted to promote in your current position and achieve (if possible) the managerial position in your company. Be clear and concrete on what you wanted to become.

I think part of the fear comes from not knowing the other candidates; not knowing what you're up against. You entered the marathon but what if Mo Farah's in the race? I think there's only one way to approach a job interview. You must go with the attitude that if there IS a better candidate than you, he/she is going to have to be pretty darned good to beat someone as good as you. The preparation you do should instil that belief. Most candidates don't prepare at all. You can succeed in your job interviews, you need only a bit of preparation! I found a useful review here

When answering this question, it is important to make sure you are expressing that you plan on staying at the company for a long time. It is also important to demonstrate some of your key strengths and how you plan on enhancing those strengths through employment with the company. Your goal here is to have the interviewer visualize you in the company for the next five years or more, so you want to demonstrate the traits and skills that you are sure their company will admire.
