1. Totally Agree. It is marketing intelligence that would help a co to survive in a comparative market situation. In today's world there are no monopolies (except probably in Cuba and N.Korea) and every decision that a co makes be it in pricing, product feature of target marketing is taken after considering the inputs from marketing intelligence.

A market intelligenceis set of tools, techniques used  to continuously collect data about the competitors, environment, result of your own actions and then produce knowledge from data and information, in order to solve marketing problems and to take decisions on the basis of that information.
