"Internet Media Type" is the same as a MIME type.
MIME types were originally created for emails sent using the SMTP protocol.
Nowadays, this standard is used in a lot of other protocols, hence the new naming convention "Internet Media Type".
MIME stands for "Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions.
It's a way of identifying files on the Internet according to their nature and format.
For example, using the "Content-type" header value defined in a HTTP response, the browser can open the file with the proper extension/plugin.why? we use them as a way to easily deliver our message more accuratedesigning a perfect web page is a different story, actually you should provide me with more info to properly guide you to design a web page cause it differ in: who is your target visitors to the web page (kids - elders) what's the purpose of the web page (sport news - multimedia - governamental services) which devices will be the most ones to visit your web page (smart phones - PCs - tablets) all these affect in the decisions you make through the design, for example:- if you are making a web page for a governmental service portal you shouldn't use too much images as you should pay more attention to the text if you're making a web site for kids you shouldn't use alot of text you should pay attention to the images and colors if you are building a web page that will be accessed through the phones you should pay attention to the load and response time as most smart phones doesn't have too much processing power or internet connection speed
