Social selling is a sales technique that focuses on building relationships with your market and utilizes social networking sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter etc.

I feel that Social Selling is more about Breaking the Ice and building rapport in an Authentic, Sincere manner based on Common interests.

It is called Social Selling because it is about connecting socially first and selling second.

  1. Social selling is the process of developing relationships as part of the sales process. Today this often takes place via social networks such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest, but can take place either online or offline.

Social selling is a term used to selling through Social media. Though I disagree with the concept. Social media should be made to connect with your customers, win their trust and build your brand positioning. If you do this, customers will automatically buy your product, be it social media or brick n mortar store.
