Human Resource Information System (HRIS) is a software or online solution for the data entry, data tracking, and data information needs of the Human Resources, payroll, management, and accounting functions within a business. Normally packaged as a data base, hundreds of companies sell some form of HRIS and every HRIS has different capabilities. It is important that the company pick HRIS carefully based on the capabilities it needs.  A faulty selection may not help the organisation attaining desired goals.

 

Typically, a good HRIS provides  : (a) overall management of all employee information, (b) reporting and analysis of this information, (c) company related documents such as employee handbooks, emergency evacuation procedures and safety guidelines (d) benefits administration (e) integration with financial software of the company such as the payroll system, and so on.

An effective HRIS brings in transparency in HR functions of the organization and employees start receiving their dues timely and regularly.  The transparency results in building of trust among employees and creates a positive feeling about the organization and it is sure to motivate employees.

However, it is very important to conduct a proper study before implementing a system.  The software being selected (or custom made) should be capable of fulfilling the needs of the organization.

there must be a policy from HR for all employees working in different department that if you show your work you can get an opportunity to go forward or promoted these kind of techniques motivate staff and they will show their100%.
