Withe the help of Safety Horne's, PPEs, and for lifting the fitter/wilder we will required the hydraulic crane to lift to the damage crane.
you hawe to change the winch and you must remowe the Wire
First thing you should do is to check the winch, hoist drum and wire rope to find which is the root cause of the problem that broke down. if found winch or hoist drum broken, look for mobile crane with a capacity of 25 Tons or depends on the weight load of the carriage. Provide 2 pcs sling cable 5/8" dia. enough to carry and pull out the carriage using 2 skilled mechanics and 1 electrician who will cater the activity, by removing wiring and accessories until it will remove from the rails then, on the ground dismantle the defective or broken parts then, replace it with a new one and assemble same. lift up the assembly and mount properly the carriage before loosening the wire rope that tightens the assembly upon giving signal for the operator to release. then proceed by installing the wire rope to its required length and diameter required then, after the installation of the wire rope, test the Crane with its required load using its hoist drum assembly and if found functioning well, release the unit for operation.
need to involve subject matter experts, isolate energy sources from equipment discus job safety analysis issue valid work permit, start un clamping from hoist motor and secured with separate wire slings from both sides
A crane is a machine for lifting and lowering a load and moving it horizontally, with the hoisting mechanism an integral part of the machine. Cranes whether fixed or mobile are driven manually or by power.
Change the winch and also the wire
By replacing the broken from the winch and reeving new wire rope for the hoist.
If winch or hoist broken then bring down the hoist, lock off the traveling crane and start to repair if needed to replace then replace with new one.
Technically competent persons can go up and assess the extent of damage by going up and inspecting the winch. If the damage is not so serious then the winch can be repaired on the crane itself. Otherwise the winch can be taken down with the help of a mobile crane, repaired and put back up in it's place.
Use safety harness climb up and find out which part of hoist is broken. (is it the drum, wire rope, electric motor, hook block, pulley? Check first) Once you know, you can replace or repair and you can decide what tools, equipments and machines you need.
