In a simple terms hearing is a uncontious activity and listening is a concoius acivity.EG: listening the teacher's class during study and as well as hearing other sound too. Hearing is basically sensing sounds, as simple as sensing, which is very different from listening. When you are listening, you are paying attention to what you hear, you understand it, what is being said or sung or even what the sound is. And from that you are able to react properly.
