say child spend time with mummy is seem less than spend time with teacher.this is theory of relativity
Tell the child that if he/she plays football with older child he/she would be beaten. That is the older the child, the better fitness and skills would be. Also spending time doing interesting thing can be seen shorter than spending it in doing uninteresting things. the keyword is " SEEN " because time passes the same in both cases but for the child it seems, considered, feels, appears like it is RELATIVELY different. That is the relativity.
General relativity is the geometric theory of gravitation published by Albert Einstein in1915.
Albert Einstein, in his theory of special relativity, determined that the laws of physics are the same for all non-accelerating observers, and he showed that the speed of light within a vacuum is the same no matter the speed at which an observer travels.
As a result, he found that space and time were interwoven into a single continuum known as space-time. Events that occur at the same time for one observer could occur at different times for another.
As he worked out the equations for his general theory of relativity, Einstein realized that massive objects caused a distortion in space-time. Imagine setting a large body in the center of a trampoline. The body would press down into the fabric, causing it to dimple. A marble rolled around the edge would spiral inward toward the body, pulled in much the same way that the gravity of a planet pulls at rocks in space.
nice question,I would try use child imagination, First i ask, does a stone fall in the same way in air and in water? the answer sure is no. Then if we make a stone fall inside a box which travel with a speed closer to the speed of light, we (who are not traveling with this box) will observe that this stone falls in a different way too, accept that there is no water inside this box, but if we are inside the box we do not notice this difference. like a fish inside water do not notice that a stone falls differently outside water because it is in the same environment.
Fundamentally, all any theory of relativity is, is telling you how the universe changes when you look at it from different points of view.
Determine speed of a fly in one moving object with the speed of another moving object
theory of relativity is given by Albert Eistein is a very complex and difficult to understand and more difficult to make someone understand at an age of 10.but it doesn't meant that a child cannot understand it.ther are exceptions .
in order to explain this theory it is very important that the child must be explained the meaning of term Relativity.
it can be better explained by giving the example of a running train and the child is sitting near a windoe in the running train. ask him questions related the motion of the objects outside and also ask him about the direction of motion of the object.
then explain him that the train is running in the forward direction while the objects outside the train are running in the opposite direction of the trian. tell him that it appears that objects are running in the opposite diretion.this motion of one object with respect to the observer is known as relative motion. then we can explain him the actual theory of relativuty.
