I was asked a question in NGO, What is a project, and has it different meaning in different companies/NGOs/Organizations?
What is your view friends?
yes, project is one which needs to be accomplished successfully, it can be different, your life, exam, marriage, annual functions, sales, product launch, service can be project
Project are set of inter related tasks which are carried out within fixed period of time.Constraints include time, cost and quality.A good project is finished with time, cost and quality constraints.Yes.Different organizations have different projects as set of tasks differ. For an NGO (Non Governmental Organization) projects are sort of humanitarian and purpose is not profit motive.Method of raising capital is different .Project criteria are different. In complex or multinational organization the purpose is different. They are for profit.Finance and capital decisions differ.Alternative decisions differ
A Project is a set of activities to perform aimed at achievement of specific goals to solve the problem. or we can say it is building block to other program that it will contribute. in business it is different and in Non Profit it has different meanings.
A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result.
The temporary nature of projects indicates that a project has a definite beginning and end.
The end is reached when the project’s objectives have been achieved or when the project is terminated because its objectives will not or cannot be met, or when the need for the project no longer exists.
YES definitely every individual or a company has their own and exclusive projects. They may resemble with others on the basis of needs, demands etc.
In the universal sense, it's just an undertaking and/or a task requiring considerable or concerted effort. A project can be competitive, systemic, individuale etc. Projects usually have a strategic significance.
Hello. Project does not have a different meaning in different organisations/Companies, a project means the same across organisations. What is different is the product/service/benefit that the project is trying to achieve. So the benefit/product/service to be achieved for an NGO is different from that of a Manufacturing company.
Sorry dear professionals/experts for grammatical mistake in my question. I would be careful next time. thank you.
Hello Mehboob Ali Laghari, there are4 basic terms: project, process, task, function. The difference between them let you understand What is Project :)All of them are scaled by difficulty/easy and novelty/repeatability. PROJECT - once performed workout (some or a lot of executors for long term by hard deadline). PROCESS - regularly executed work-chain of a lot of executors by strict fixed rules. FUNCTION - regularly work of an executor, performing by rules, known him/her and weakly aliased with others. TASK - once performed work by an executor for a short period. As to me, the MEANING of a project CANNOT be strongly DIFFERed due to organization structure or what else. Wish you success!
Project is a set of defined activities which are time bound in order to establish particular business function. It differs for each and every industry and to each and every function based on the target, we need to achieve.
