This is a very broad question. A teacher has to have diverse characteristics, such as knowledge and the ability to pass it on to others, communication skills, patience and capability to adjust his lesson according to his students' age, culture and knowledge. In other words, a teacher is a multi task person , who should be continuously evolving.
