Register now or log in to join your professional community.
1. Make sure Both Domain Controllers (Preset Role holder & planed to transfer) are Live.
2. Login into Present Role holder DC (Login using Enterprise Admin)
3. Start -> RUN -> type ntdsutil & press enter
4. Type roles & press ENTER
5. Type connections & press ENTER
6. Type connect to server ServerName (where ServerName is DC where you want to transfer role that is destination) & press enter
7. once server connection established, type q & enter
8. Now fsmo maintance will show as prompt, Then type command transfer Role (In place of Role mention name of the role you want to transfer, for ex- transfer Schema Master / Domain Name Master/ rid master / pdc / Infrastructure Master)
9.After transfer fsmo role, type q & press enter to come out from fsmo mainatance prompt. again press q & press enter to exit from ntdsutill utility.
Relay, refer, endorse and train them.
