PMG is a Permanent Magnet Generatot coupled on Genarator Excitor rear side shaft. In11 KV Generator,When TG rotates at synchronous rpm it Produces3 Phase220 Volt AC.This3 Phase220 Volt ac supply is fed to AVR & AVR fed it to Generator Excitor Field to Generator Excitor Armature & further to Generator Main Field through Diode bridge/ Commutatot carbon brush for Excitation.

There are different type of Excitation System given below :

1) Static Excitation System: Excitation is fed to Generator Rotor through Slipring carbon brushes.

2) Rotating Excitation System :

A) Brushless excitation system

B) Brush excitation through Commutator Carbon brush & Slipring carbon brush through Field breaker.
