A good vendor must quote the reasonable price. Neither he quotes skyrocketing price nor rock bottom price.
He has to have range of products which should be updated and trendy
He has to give minimum lead time
He has to give service after the sales
He has ability and competent to effect the supply without delay.
His source of supply should be located near to our production unit or plant in order to reduce the transportation cost and wastages
A good vendor is one that is willing to learn grow and modify his product as per customer requirements.
The things I look for in a vendor are,
1.) Experience
2.) Flexibility to learn and grow and modify(changes)
3.) Reasonable costs
4.) Quality Product
5.) Timely Delivery
6.) Commitment
who honor the commitment.
Commitment includes execution of every order with quality in timely manner, follows compliance ( social and technical ).
I would not agree with cheap price offering vendor is good. there may be multiple reasons to offer cheap price. it cannot be a judgement tool.
highest quality with least cost and flexible process
