In lump-sum projects if you found that your price in one item is very less than the actual cost of it, can you claim a variation?

unless you have a new quantity change, you cannot claim for unit rate change.

Once you prices and the price accepted by the both the parties , you can not change the price. It is your duty to price the item correctly. We do not give the credit to the client once the atucal rate of particular item is lower than our price .

No you cannot claim as a variation order. Only possible to Amendment the contract.

You can't claim. And also the specific item's rate increased more than before. Then also you cannot apply for a variation.

 

If client request to change the item or adding more quantity of that item, then only you can apply for a variation.

No you can not as this item was included within the contract documents when you signed it.

no you can't you accepted to take all the risk for the contract and should have deeply reviewed this in your estimation phase.

No. You can not claim it as variation unless the client requested to change that item.

It is impossible to claim as the itemized price confirmed in the contract document and could not be changed till the customer asking for the some items change or adding some quantities then you can make a variation order with new items prices and quantities with new conditions for the deliveries.

If unit prices are stated in the Contract Documents or subsequently agreed upon, and if quantities originally contemplated are so changed in a proposed Change Order or Construction Change Directive that application of such unit prices to quantities of Work proposed will cause substantial inequity to the Owner or Contractor, the applicable unit prices shall be equitably adjusted.

In my view you can by providing some add on free of cost and signing the addendum after negotiation. all those who are saying no. In my opinion are thinking introvert.

Go out talk to client dive him some extra and save more profit.

Those who are saying no are basically Degree holder they have very less experience practical business
