Thank you for your invite. My observation is that the workplace environment impacts employee morale, productivity and engagement - both positively and negatively. These includes poorly designed workstations, unsuitable furniture, lack of ventilation, inappropriate lighting, excessive noise, insufficient safety measures in fire emergencies and lack of personal protective equipment. People working in such environment are prone to occupational disease and it impacts on employee’s performance. Thus productivity is decreased due to the workplace environment. It is the quality of the employee’s workplace environment that most impacts on their level of motivation and subsequent performance. How well they engage with the organization, especially with their immediate environment, influences to a great extent their error rate, level of innovation and collaboration with other employees, absenteeism and ultimately, how long they stay in the job. Creating a work environment in which employees are productive is essential to increased profits for your organization, corporation or small business. The relationship between work, the workplace and the tools of work are driving factors for the quality of the output and efficiency.
The work environment can also implicate the social relation at workplace and also has bearing on the relationship between colleague, supervisor and the organisation. The neighboring circumstances in which employees are working together, if are satisfied, comfortable and happy they will be motivated to work work hard. Effective results & productivity for any organisation is depend on the level of satisfaction of employees and work environment is one of the most important factor which influence the satisfaction & motivation level of employees. Efficient human resource management and maintain good work environment or culture enhances not only the performance of employee but the growth of organisation.
Therefore good working conditions are stimulant to employee efficiency and performance.
working / environmental conditions help the company to get the following:
1- Increase loyality of employees by showing that the company is caring about all phisycal & mental working environment for its employee. They will fight to get/grap any opportunity to the company.
2- Increase the productivity & quality of the services from the employees
3- It will reflect on the company image & position in the market (it'd free type of mouth-mouth marketing)
4- Employees will concentrate on his job rathaer than looking for another job
According to Herzberg theory of motivators and hygiene factors ,working conditions play an important part in organization success and overall improving employee motivation levels.Working conditions are motivators at work place.They create a sense of belonging to organization. Organization artifacts are best way to interpret organization culture.Apple and Google are best examples of how they create value by improve working conditions.Firstly they have innovative culture.Dress codes play minimum role.They provide staff with sporting,gym and extra activities at workplace so employee get motivated and increase performance levels.Its good attraction for employees
because he is working to collected his goals and needs.
You get good working condition so you give all what you have
You get bad working condition you feel like dying
Main and foremost reason I can think of is, being improvement of working conditions is,- Employee is Happy - that leads him/her to work in a pleasant way makes him/her more productive or better way of doing things.
