In a simple perspective. Delegate the job to correct person. Understanding the people ability before allocating the job might help us achieve expected productivity. 

Make the labor force to understand the importance of job, Making them feel more responsible might result in better productivity.

First thing is to understand the psychology of crew, then comes the method statement, Target and deadlines. Pulling them is always better than Pushing.

Using correct tools might increase the productivity.

first, motivate your people by entrusting & communicating to them, give them target in every pace or scope works, provide their needs ahead of time in terms of materials and other items needed  to achieve their work. if possible give them rewards if they attained the target work. improved their skills by training or sharing of ideas and as supervisor, we should check their work from time to time to avoid mistakes and reworks..  second, avoid delays by planning and proper coordination with other contractor (civil,electro-mechanical,etc.)
