Some basic guidelines for a group discussion which you can tailor to your specific goals are:
1. Communicate the desired purpose and outcome of the group discussion.
2. Make clear the "rules" and expectations such as allowing people to finish their thoughts before the next person speaks, no interrupting, showing respect and sensitivity even when there is a disagreement and having an open mind.
3. Assign clear roles for all participants such as:
working as a team work ,listen ,respect ,understanding that the input from each member is important to avoid cost of poor quality and to meet the customer satisfaction
Let the discussion take place in orderly manner first.
Then let others speak and when they finish then put forwar your point. Do not interject anybody in the middle of their point.
Have ideas to discuss all possible perspectives.
if you want to negate, do it very diplomatically like i would beg to differ or i partially agree with what you said but, or you have a very good point but i must add, etc.
have a strong voice so that others may be able to hear even amidst chaos.
have utmost confidence in yourself.
keep your thinking cap on during the whole duration.
keep smiling and also do not forget to be a good listener, because even if you do not have ideas you may very well harvest on what somebody else just spoke.
