By what i have observed few people take time to gain speed on what they always do or if they are taught a new process and asked to do, even though they learn the process very soon.
Don't compress a person to do only that one process which you think he/she can do soon in order to obtain ore productivity. This discourages that person . Give him/her more chances even if he/she doesn't ask for or shows interest to learn or train a new employer in his/her team.
Maybe don't pressurize him/her in doing so many of just one process. indulge him/her to learn the entire team process.
From my point of view is monitoring and direct interaction.
As a Manager, need to understand the strength and opportunities of the team member to put him into the right work to extract the potential. As a Manager, for any Team Member performance, needs to be recognised and providing the rewards on real time basis which will bring the more enthusiasim from the employee. The same will reflect in the productivity which will increase steadily.
By letting him doing the work with his own ways and decisions. Giving him free hand to do the task/work with all required resources with a little flexibility of time.
- Setting goals and time lines.
- Direct Interations and assessments
- Task assignments and role plays
- Independant assignments and analysing the results
Understand and outline their strengths and weakness and based on that provide a development plan which could be tracked further and help them to realise their goals which are inline with the organizational requirements.
Nobody is perfect in this world, but everybody has an x-factor within, try to find out that and light a spark on that, his productivity will automatically increase....then just support him and see the magic.
Through motivation and self respect for the employee.
