This depends entirely on your market. Is it B2C or B2B? Who are your customers? Where are your customers? A good marketing strategy may then stem from targeting the channels that your customer base is using. 

  • For example, if you are targeting B2B customers, than you may consider LinkedIn, trade shows, referral programs, loyalty programs, discount promotions, free trials, database marketing, lectures etc.
  • If you are targeting B2C Customers, than you might consider merchandisers, sales incentives, promotions, social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), email marketing and contests.

The main thing is to identify the channels and make sure that all your departments are working towards achieving the same goal. A PRO TIP: make sure your sales team and marketing team are talking to each other to create marketing programs together. One of the common mistakes is to create a marketing campaign that drives customers to a sales team that has no idea the promotion even exists.
