Risk assessment it is a part of managing the health and safety at work. Its a cereful examination of what in a work could couse harm or hazards and deciding on suitable control measures to prevent damage, loss or injury at work.
Job Safety Analysis it is looking at the work task and concidering what is the safest way to to complete.
Risk assessment is a systematic approach towards hazards in all activity by identifying hazards, evaluating risk, implement control measures, priorities control measures
Job safety analysis is step by step approach towards recognize, access and control hazards
A Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is a procedure done to help integrate accepted safety and health principles and practices into a particular task or job operation while Risk Assessment is a systematic process of evaluating the potential risks that may be involved in a projected activity or undertaking.
JSA is a careful study for each step in a job, identifying the safety and health hazards at each step individually and classifying the the severity and probability (H,M,L) for each hazard , identifying appropriate controls to eliminate or reduce each hazard.
Risk Assessment is evaluation of a hazard in an incident potential matrix and determine relative risk of different hazards as a way of prioritizing.
JSA is the careful study of each step in a job, identify the hazards in those steps and the safety measures to avoid these hazards.
While risk assessment is an evaluation of risk at each step of an activity by classifying and identifying probability and severity.
The Scope of both is same and it is to identify the Hazards, Evaluate the Risk and provide proper control measure to eliminate or replace the risks.
Risk Assessment is a document to identify all the possible hazards in the job and there control measures as per Risk index.
and
JHA or JSA is a document that the job is break down into small steps and identify and evaluate all the hazards and their control measure in each steps by eliminating or replacing the risk to permissible level.
Unlike to Job Safety Analyse the Residual Risk In Task Risk Assessment can be easy counted by Risk matrix.
As per my understanding.
Job safety Analysis - This analysis helps identify if the particular job meets the safety and the principles standards, it is a step by step evaluation of the Work instructions and complete analysis of the job containing the hazard and the risk involved in it.
Where as
Risk assessment - Is a process in which the entire organization is assessed for potential Hazards and risk involved for entire premises or the organization but not a in depth analysis on all job roles performed inside the organization.
Risk assessment can be defined as identifying the level of risks associated with activity or operations and suggest control measures to reduce the level of risks and its commonly used for the entire activities of scope.
In other hand Job Safety Analysis is identifying hazards related to specific jobs and recommend control measures to reduce the risk and injury to the workers.
risk assessment is a carefull examination on your work that could cause harm to the employee and put a control measure to reduced the risk the JSA is to identify the work task and to identify the safest way to do it
