Risk Assessment is examining process to find the hazards and it's appropriate precautions. Its involved in the whole project/organisation.

Where as Job Safety Analysis is to identify the specific hazards from a specific task.

Risk assessment it is a part of managing the health and safety at work. Its a cereful examination of what in a work could couse harm or hazards and deciding on suitable control measures to prevent damage, loss or injury at work.

Job Safety Analysis it is looking at the work task and concidering what is the safest way to to complete.

Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is a procedure done to help integrate accepted safety and health principles and practices into a particular task or job operation while Risk Assessment is a systematic process of evaluating the potential risks that may be involved in a projected activity or undertaking.

JSA is a careful study for each step in a job, identifying the safety and health hazards at each step individually and classifying the the severity and probability (H,M,L) for each hazard , identifying appropriate controls to eliminate or reduce each hazard.

Risk Assessment is evaluation of a hazard in an incident potential matrix and determine relative risk of different hazards as a way of prioritizing.

The Scope of both is same and it is to identify the Hazards, Evaluate the Risk and provide proper control measure to eliminate or replace the risks.

Risk Assessment is a document to identify all the possible hazards in the job and there control measures as per Risk index.

JHA or JSA is a document that the job is break down into small steps and identify and evaluate all the hazards and their control measure in each steps by eliminating or replacing the risk to permissible level.

As per my understanding.

Job safety Analysis - This analysis helps identify if the particular job meets the safety and the principles standards, it is a step by step evaluation of the Work instructions and complete analysis of the job containing the hazard and the risk involved in it.

 

Where as 

Risk assessment - Is a process in which the entire organization is assessed for potential Hazards and risk involved for entire premises or the organization but not a in depth analysis on all job roles performed inside the organization.

Risk assessment can be defined as identifying the level of risks associated with activity or operations and suggest control measures to reduce the level of risks and its commonly used for the entire activities of scope.

In other hand Job Safety Analysis is identifying hazards related to specific jobs and recommend control measures to reduce the risk and injury to the workers.
