The list below contains overviews of some of the most common online courses in mechanical design engineering.
According to my work experience SOLID WORK is the best and convenient to use and then other software is also good which is depend on company which software they use
Thanks for the invitation
Agree with my colleagues
the design programs are a lot to use such as soliworks, autocad, catia and inventor, for the mechanical engineering design, they all are similar, and differentiate a little from one to another, so it depends on the project you working , and you're familiarity with the program, some are comfortable and used to catio, and inventor, others used to solidworks, about me, i use solidworks, for 3D modelling, assembling and simulating, also ANSYS simulation, so i am just comfortable with it as it's unlimited and i can use it for all projects i have and to cover all the options i need for the project
for Machining solidedge is used, as it output the file necessary for machines to print and manufacture the
part you designing
so nawadays, solidworks, catio and inventor are the most programs used for design, and it will up to the engineer who designing and the project he/she working on
regards
Here is the list of CAD software that are focused mainly on mechanical design and parametric modeling:
AUTOCAD.
Creo parametric.
Solid Edge.
AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor are the staples, but I recommend also learning SketchUp (free) and Blender (or other animation/modeling software) because taking your part/design and making it look nice for presentations can be invaluable.
